Over a decade now, Kuwayama Kiyoharu (aka Lethe) has been obsessively searching for the expansive resonance within empty industrial spaces and activating those reverberant frequencies with a small assortment of chains, found objects, and the occasional instrument. It is as if he's taken Organum's classic album Vacant Lights as the jumping off point for his entire career, conducting poignant rituals within deserted cathedrals of industry. On Catastrophe Point 7, Kuwayama veers slightly from this modus operandi, in choosing to record within the Arsenic Theatre in Lausanne, Switzerland, a very inhabited space at the time. Aside from a few somber notes on a piano (which would be rare for Kuwayama's wanderings for very obvious reasons), the results do not stray far from his signature sounds of cavernous thrumming and wooden clanks layered in poetic fashion with closely documented textures of grit and dirt being scraped across concrete floors.
